In a thrilling Week 13 matchup, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-28, solidifying their playoff position with just a few games left in the season. Both teams showcased their offensive prowess, but it was the Lions who managed to hold off a late-game surge from their division rivals. Jalen Milroe led the Lions’ offensive attack with an impressive four touchdown passes, while Jameson Williams emerged as his favorite target, racking up 181 receiving yards. J.J. McCarthy of the Vikings put up a valiant effort, throwing for 366 yards, but Detroit's offense proved too potent to contain. Demond Claiborne added balance to Minnesota's attack with 58 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Lions made key plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Caleb Bacon recorded eight total tackles, providing a steady presence against the Vikings' offense, while Alim McNeill contributed with a crucial sack. Kerby Joseph's interception was a turning point in the game, halting a promising Minnesota drive and allowing the Lions to maintain their slim lead in the closing moments.
