In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the Cleveland Browns topped the Cincinnati Bengals 49-41, showcasing their offensive firepower with both teams looking to secure early-season momentum. This victory not only boosts the Browns' confidence but also places them firmly in the playoff conversation as the 2028 season unfolds. Cleveland's Lamar Jackson was electric, throwing for 436 yards and five touchdowns, proving to be the driving force behind the team's potent offense. Nyck Harbor was his favorite target, racking up 141 receiving yards and finding the end zone as well. On the other side, Cincinnati's Chase Brown had a standout performance with 111 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Browns' offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Browns were led by Rueben Bain Jr., who was everywhere on the field, recording four total tackles and three sacks, effectively disrupting the Bengals' rhythm. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Bain's pressure forced a critical turnover on downs, allowing Cleveland to extend their lead. Despite a valiant effort from Cincinnati, including an interception by Gilbert Boley, the Browns' defense made the key stops when it mattered most, sealing the win.
