In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions topped the Jacksonville Jaguars 48-22 in Week 2 of the 2028 season. The Lions' offense showcased their firepower, while the Jaguars struggled to keep pace, resulting in a significant victory that sets the tone for the rest of the season. Leading the charge for Detroit was quarterback Jalen Milroe, who threw for an impressive 487 yards and six touchdowns, establishing himself as a key player in the game. V Wemby was a standout in the receiving corps, racking up 297 receiving yards, making big plays that continuously put pressure on the Jaguars' defense. Meanwhile, Jahmyr Gibbs added a solid but modest contribution on the ground with 35 rushing yards, as the Lions relied heavily on their aerial attack. Defensively, the Lions were effective in limiting the Jaguars' offensive opportunities, with Caleb Bacon leading the team in tackles with six. The turning point came when Zach Myers intercepted a pass, halting a Jaguars drive and allowing the Lions to extend their lead even further. Despite a strong effort from Jacksonville’s Emmett Pierce, who recorded three sacks, the Lions' defense was able to hold firm, securing the win with a dominant display.
