The Minnesota Vikings cruised to a commanding 34-3 victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 16 of the 2026 season. With playoff aspirations on the line, the Vikings delivered a decisive performance that solidified their position in the postseason race. Kyler Murray was the standout performer for Minnesota, showcasing his talents with 287 passing yards and four touchdown passes. He connected frequently with Jauan Jennings, who erupted for 144 receiving yards, proving to be a reliable target throughout the game. The Vikings' ground game was also impressive, with Jordan Mason leading the way with 99 rushing yards, adding to the offensive explosion. On the defensive side, the Vikings made their presence felt, limiting the Commanders to a mere three points. The turning point came in the second quarter when Caleb Banks recorded a crucial sack, stifling a potential scoring drive and allowing Minnesota to extend their lead. Although Sonny Styles of Washington topped the tackle chart with eight, the Vikings' defense as a whole consistently pressured the Commanders, ensuring they never found their rhythm.
