In a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 71-65. This high-stakes game showcased both teams fighting for an early-season momentum, but it was the Lions who emerged victorious in a dramatic offensive showdown. Quarterback Jared Goff put on a spectacular performance, throwing for 567 yards and a remarkable seven touchdowns, leading the Lions' aerial assault. He found dynamic playmaker Jahmyr Gibbs, who was instrumental in the win, racking up 234 receiving yards along with 94 rushing yards, effectively keeping the Bills' defense on its heels throughout the contest. Defensively, the Lions managed to make key stops, with Christian Izien leading the charge with four total tackles. However, it was the relentless offensive output that defined the game, with the turning point coming late in the fourth quarter when Goff connected with Gibbs for a touchdown that ultimately sealed the victory. Despite a solid effort from the Bills, including a sack from T.J. Sanders, they couldn't keep pace with Detroit's explosive offense.
