In a thrilling season opener, the Dallas Cowboys topped the New York Giants 39-28, kicking off the 2026 season with a decisive victory. Both teams entered the game eager to set the tone for the year, but it was Dallas that came away with the early advantage in the NFC East. Dak Prescott was the standout performer, throwing for 332 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his precision and leadership. Meanwhile, the Giants struggled to find their offensive rhythm, with Cam Skattebo managing only 21 rushing yards, while Davante Adams led the receiving corps with 135 yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Cowboys’ potent attack. Defensively, the Giants put forth a commendable effort, highlighted by Byron Young’s two sacks and Paulson Adebo’s five total tackles. However, the turning point came when Caleb Downs of the Cowboys snagged an interception, halting a potential Giants drive and allowing Dallas to extend their lead. This key defensive play shifted momentum and ultimately secured the Cowboys' victory in a hard-fought contest.
