In a dominant display, the Los Angeles Rams topped the San Francisco 49ers 33-0 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the year, the Rams made a statement with a convincing shutout, setting the tone for their campaign ahead. Matthew Stafford led the charge for Los Angeles, throwing for 225 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his efficiency and poise under pressure. The Rams' offense was balanced, but it was their ability to capitalize on opportunities that kept the 49ers on their heels. Christian McCaffrey led the ground game for San Francisco with 72 rushing yards, while Ricky Pearsall stood out in the receiving department with 79 yards, but they ultimately fell short. Defensively, the Rams were relentless, highlighted by Kamren Kinchens' interception that halted any momentum San Francisco tried to build. The turning point of the game came early in the second quarter when the Rams forced a turnover that led to a quick touchdown, putting the 49ers in an uphill battle they couldn't recover from. With Fred Warner's 10 tackles, San Francisco's defense fought valiantly, but it was clear that the Rams had the upper hand throughout the contest.
