In a decisive Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Houston Texans 20-7, solidifying their early position in the playoff race. The Bengals showcased their offensive prowess while the Texans struggled to find rhythm, making this a crucial victory for Cincinnati. Joe Burrow led the charge for the Bengals, throwing for 201 yards and demonstrating poise in the pocket. Chase Brown was a standout performer, contributing significantly with 48 rushing yards and leading the team in receiving with 80 yards. Despite C.J. Stroud's lone touchdown pass, the Texans' offense could not keep pace with the Bengals' balanced attack. On the defensive side, the Bengals made key plays that shifted the momentum of the game. Kyle Dugger's interception was a critical turning point, halting a potential Texans scoring drive and energizing Cincinnati's defense. Although Houston's Will Anderson Jr. recorded two sacks, it wasn't enough to counter the Bengals' effective defensive strategy, which ultimately sealed the game and limited the Texans to just one touchdown.
