In a dominant display to kick off the 2026 season, the Washington Commanders defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 48-7. With both teams looking to establish their identity early in the year, the Commanders made a statement with a powerhouse performance, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess. Jayden Daniels was the star of the night for Washington, throwing for an impressive 372 yards and connecting on six touchdown passes, leaving the Eagles' secondary scrambling. Antonio Williams emerged as his favorite target, racking up 177 receiving yards, while the Commanders' offense rolled up points with efficiency and precision. Defensively, the Commanders were just as formidable, with Nick Cross making his mark by snagging two interceptions, effectively stifling any hope for a Philadelphia comeback. Quan Martin led the charge with four total tackles, contributing to a well-rounded defensive effort that kept the Eagles off balance. The game's turning point came early when Washington’s defense forced back-to-back turnovers, allowing Daniels to quickly capitalize and set the tone for a one-sided affair.
