In a thrilling matchup, the Dallas Cowboys topped the Washington Commanders 31-21 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game looking to establish early season momentum, but it was the Cowboys who came out on top, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess. Jaxson Dart was the star of the show for Dallas, throwing for 189 yards and two touchdowns while also contributing significantly on the ground with 81 rushing yards. His connection with Puka Nacua was key, as Nacua led all receivers with 84 yards, helping the Cowboys maintain control of the game. The offensive production from Dart and his supporting cast was instrumental in securing the victory. Defensively, the Cowboys made crucial plays that shifted the momentum in their favor, particularly through the efforts of Cam Taylor-Britt, who recorded two interceptions. These turnovers proved pivotal, halting Washington's drives and allowing Dallas to capitalize on the ensuing possessions. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Taylor-Britt's second pick set up a touchdown that pushed the Cowboys' lead to two scores, ultimately sealing the game despite a late push from the Commanders.
