In a decisive Week 5 matchup of the 2026 season, the Washington Commanders triumphed over the New York Giants with a final score of 41-24. The victory not only boosts the Commanders' confidence but also positions them strongly as they navigate through the season's challenges. On the offensive side, Jayden Daniels led the Commanders with a stellar performance, throwing three touchdown passes and keeping the Giants’ defense on its heels. Meanwhile, New York’s Jaxson Dart put up impressive numbers with 319 passing yards, while Cam Skattebo rushed for 102 yards and Malik Nabers emerged as a key target with 138 receiving yards. Despite their efforts, the Giants fell short of matching Washington's offensive firepower. Defensively, the Commanders made crucial stops that shifted the momentum of the game, but Brian Burns from the Giants stood out with 1.5 sacks, making his presence felt in the backfield. The turning point came in the third quarter when the Commanders scored two quick touchdowns, extending their lead and putting the Giants in a position where they had to play catch-up. Ultimately, Washington’s ability to capitalize on offensive opportunities while stifling New York’s momentum sealed the game in their favor.
