The Dallas Cowboys secured a commanding 21-0 victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 2 of the 2026 season, keeping their playoff aspirations alive early in the campaign. With both teams looking to establish momentum, this matchup was crucial for positioning in the competitive NFC East. Dak Prescott threw for a touchdown and managed the game effectively, while Ezekiel Elliott was the standout performer on the ground, racking up 105 rushing yards. The Cowboys' offense was efficient, capitalizing on opportunities and controlling the tempo, which left the Commanders struggling to find their rhythm throughout the game. Defensively, the Cowboys were relentless, highlighted by Jaylon Smith's interception that halted a potential scoring drive from Washington. Trevon Diggs led the team with three tackles, showcasing the Dallas defense's ability to stifle any offensive momentum from the Commanders. The turning point came in the second quarter when Smith’s interception shifted the momentum firmly in favor of Dallas, allowing them to extend their lead and dictate the pace for the remainder of the game.
