In a commanding performance to kick off the 2026 season, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 21-7. The stakes were high, marking the beginning of a new campaign for both teams, and the Packers made a strong statement in their quest for dominance in the NFC North. Aaron Rodgers led the way for Green Bay, throwing for 233 yards and showcasing his precision in the passing game. Running back Aaron Jones was a force on the ground, racking up 132 rushing yards, while Marquez Valdes-Scantling emerged as a key target, accumulating 125 receiving yards and a touchdown. Together, they powered the Packers' offense to a decisive victory. Defensively, the Packers stifled the Vikings' attempts to build momentum, limiting their scoring opportunities. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Green Bay's defense forced a crucial turnover, allowing their offense to extend the lead just before halftime. Despite a strong effort from Minnesota's Anthony Barr, who tallied 12 tackles, the Packers' balanced attack proved too much for the Vikings to overcome.
