In a decisive Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season, the Tennessee Titans topped the New York Jets with a final score of 31-13. The Titans made a strong statement early in the season, showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball and setting the tone for what they hope will be a successful campaign. Offensively, Tennessee was powered by a stellar performance from running back Derrius Guice, who racked up an impressive 154 rushing yards. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill contributed with 137 passing yards, while Jets quarterback Sam Darnold managed to find the end zone once through the air but struggled to generate consistent offense against a tough Titans defense. Defensively, Tennessee significantly impacted the game's outcome, highlighted by Jadeveon Clowney's 1.5 sacks and Rashaan Evans' interception. The Titans' defense created crucial turnovers and applied relentless pressure, limiting the Jets' scoring opportunities. The turning point came late in the first half when Evans picked off Darnold, allowing Tennessee to extend their lead and seize control of the game.
