In a nail-biter to kick off the 2026 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrowly defeated the Cincinnati Bengals with a final score of 15-14. Both teams entered the game looking to establish momentum early in the season, but it was the Buccaneers who emerged victorious in this tightly contested battle. Tom Brady showcased his experience under pressure, throwing for a touchdown that proved critical in the final moments of the game. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow led the Bengals with 198 passing yards, while Joe Mixon was a dual threat, racking up 78 rushing yards and 60 receiving yards. Despite the standout performances from Burrow and Mixon, the Buccaneers' offense managed to capitalize on key opportunities to secure the win. Defensively, the Buccaneers made their mark with Jordan Whitehead leading the charge with five total tackles. Vita Vea added to the pressure with a sack, disrupting Burrow’s rhythm at crucial moments. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Tampa Bay's defense held strong, allowing just a single point in the final minutes, sealing the narrow victory and setting the tone for their season ahead.
