In a dominant performance, the Detroit Lions topped the New York Giants 24-3 in Week 16 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, Detroit's victory solidified their position as contenders, while the Giants struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game. Quarterback Jared Goff led the charge for the Lions, throwing for 296 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his precision and ability to spread the ball effectively. Jameson Williams was a standout target, racking up 108 receiving yards, while Jahmyr Gibbs added a solid ground game with 74 rushing yards, contributing to the Lions' offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Lions made their mark with a strong showing, highlighted by Derrick Moore's 1.5 sacks that disrupted the Giants' passing game. The turning point came early in the second half when Goff connected with Williams for a touchdown, extending Detroit’s lead to 17-3 and forcing the Giants to abandon their game plan. Tremaine Edmunds led the Giants' defense with eight total tackles, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum in their favor.
