The San Francisco 49ers opened their 2027 season with a commanding 38-21 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Both teams were eager to set the tone for the year, but it was the 49ers who showcased their dominance on both sides of the ball, establishing a solid early lead in the NFC West. Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, tossing four touchdown passes to ignite the offense. Sharrif Langford was a force on the ground, racking up an impressive 171 rushing yards, providing critical balance to the 49ers' attack. Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford of the Rams threw for 224 yards and connected with Puka Nacua for 83 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the explosive San Francisco offense. Defensively, the 49ers made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Nick Bosa notched 1.5 sacks, consistently pressuring Stafford and disrupting the Rams' rhythm. The turning point came when Ephesians Prysock intercepted a pass, halting a potential comeback and allowing San Francisco to maintain control. With their strong defensive performance, the 49ers set the stage for what looks to be an exciting season ahead.
