In a commanding performance, the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Houston Texans 52-21 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The victory solidifies the Chargers' position in the playoff hunt, showcasing their offensive prowess against a struggling Texans squad. Quarterback Justin Herbert was the standout performer, throwing for an impressive 386 yards and four touchdowns. He was well-supported by Keaton Mitchell, who rushed for 97 yards, and Brenen Thompson, who had a spectacular game with 194 receiving yards, making it difficult for the Texans' defense to keep pace throughout the contest. Defensively, the Chargers made their mark, with Khalil Mack registering a sack and Tarheeb Still coming up with an interception, adding to the chaos for the Texans' offense. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Herbert connected with Thompson for a long touchdown, shifting momentum firmly in favor of the Chargers and effectively sealing the game.
