The Jacksonville Jaguars narrowly defeated the New England Patriots 19-17 in a tightly contested Week 3 matchup of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to establish their identity early in the season, this victory gives the Jaguars a crucial boost as they aim for playoff contention. Trevor Lawrence led the charge for Jacksonville, passing for 246 yards and connecting with Brian Thomas Jr. for a standout performance, racking up 101 receiving yards. The Patriots fought back with Drake Maye throwing for two touchdown passes, but it was TreVeyon Henderson's 73 rushing yards that kept New England competitive throughout the game. Defensively, the Jaguars made pivotal plays that turned the tide. Caleb Ransaw's three tackles and Josh Hines-Allen's sack helped stifle the Patriots' offensive rhythm, while Jarrian Jones sealed the game with a key interception late in the fourth quarter. It was these defensive efforts that allowed Jacksonville to hold off New England’s late-game surge and secure the win.
