The Cincinnati Bengals secured a commanding 40-14 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 2 of the 2026 season. This win not only boosts the Bengals’ confidence but also establishes them as early contenders in the league, while the Texans will need to regroup after this disappointing performance. Cincinnati's offense was led by Joe Burrow, who connected for three touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to exploit the Texans' secondary. Chase Brown contributed on the ground with 44 rushing yards, while the receiving corps saw standout performances, particularly from Burrow’s targets. Despite a strong effort from Houston's C.J. Stroud, who threw for 283 yards, it was not enough to keep pace with the Bengals' explosive attack. Defensively, the Bengals made their presence felt, with Dexter Lawrence II leading the charge with two sacks. However, the real game-changer came from Jordan Battle, who not only recorded two interceptions but also helped shift momentum back to Cincinnati at critical moments. The Bengals' defense smothered the Texans throughout the game, effectively sealing their dominant victory.
