The New Orleans Saints delivered a commanding performance in Week 5 of the 2026 season, defeating the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 44-21. With this victory, the Saints solidified their position in the NFC playoff race, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive dominance throughout the game. Leading the charge for New Orleans was quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr, who threw for an impressive 416 yards and five touchdowns, proving to be a nightmare for the Vikings' defense. Wide receiver Zavion Thomas was his favorite target, racking up 298 receiving yards, making explosive plays that kept the Vikings on their heels. On the ground, Aaron Jones Sr of Minnesota managed 66 rushing yards but struggled to find any consistent momentum against a relentless Saints defense. Defensively, the Saints were formidable, highlighted by JT Woods, who recorded eight total tackles and came up with two crucial interceptions. Mike Green added to the pressure on the Vikings' offense with two sacks, contributing to a defensive effort that stifled any potential comeback.
