In a dominating performance, the New York Jets topped the Detroit Lions 51-9 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Jets solidify their position early in the season, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess against a struggling Lions squad. Ty Simpson led the charge for New York, throwing for 279 yards and four touchdowns, while Breece Hall had a standout game on the ground, racking up 228 rushing yards. Kenyon Sadiq was a key target for Simpson, hauling in 196 receiving yards, helping to keep the Lions’ defense on its heels throughout the contest. On the defensive side, the Jets were relentless, with David Bailey recording three sacks and Dane Belton intercepting two passes, which contributed significantly to the game’s outcome. The turning point came in the second quarter when Belton's second interception set up a quick touchdown, pushing the lead to 30-3 and effectively sealing the game for New York. The Lions struggled to recover from that momentum shift as the Jets continued to dominate in all phases of play.
