In a decisive opening matchup of the 2026 season, the Dallas Cowboys topped the New York Giants with a commanding 42-14 victory. This win sets a promising tone for the Cowboys as they look to build on their playoff aspirations, while the Giants will need to regroup quickly after a tough start. Dak Prescott led the offensive charge for Dallas, throwing for three touchdowns and demonstrating impressive command of the field. CeeDee Lamb was a standout receiver, racking up 98 yards and consistently finding space to make plays. On the Giants' side, Jaxson Dart put up solid numbers with 278 passing yards, but struggled to convert those opportunities into points. Defensively, the Cowboys made their presence felt, with Jaishawn Barham snagging an interception that shifted the momentum in Dallas' favor. Jalen Thompson led the team in tackles, contributing to a solid performance that stifled the Giants' offensive rhythm. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Barham's interception set up a quick touchdown, allowing the Cowboys to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory.
