The Denver Broncos decisively defeated the Indianapolis Colts 48-18 in a commanding performance that showcased their offensive firepower. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the 2027 season, the Broncos emerged victorious, demonstrating their potential as a playoff contender. Bo Nix was the star of the show for Denver, throwing for 347 yards and three touchdowns, effectively leading the charge against the Colts' defense. He found his favorite target, Jaylen Waddle, who lit up the field with 216 receiving yards, consistently breaking open for big plays. On the ground, Jonathan Taylor put forth a valiant effort for Indianapolis, rushing for 114 yards, but it was not enough to keep pace with the Broncos' high-octane offense. Defensively, the Broncos were relentless, with key contributions from Jonathon Cooper, who made four total tackles, and Tyler Onyedim, who recorded two sacks. Trey Ortega's interception marked a critical turning point in the game, halting a Colts drive and preserving Denver's commanding lead. The Broncos' ability to pressure the quarterback and create turnovers proved essential in solidifying their victory and setting the tone for the rest of the season.
