In a thrilling Week 16 matchup, the Carolina Panthers held off the New York Jets with a final score of 35-27, securing a crucial victory as the season nears its conclusion. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but the Panthers ultimately outlasted the Jets to enhance their postseason aspirations. Carolina's offense was propelled by quarterback Bryce Young, who threw for three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to find the end zone when it mattered most. Cade Klubnik of the Jets led in passing yards with 240, but it was Breece Hall's 86 rushing yards and Garrett Wilson's impressive 101 receiving yards that kept New York competitive throughout the game. Ultimately, the Panthers’ offensive balance proved decisive. Defensively, the Panthers made key plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Chau Smith-Wade led the team with eight total tackles, while Nic Scourton's 1.5 sacks disrupted the Jets' rhythm. A critical interception by Jaycee Horn not only thwarted a potential scoring drive but also served as a turning point in the game, allowing Carolina to maintain their lead and seal the victory.
