The New Orleans Saints topped the Washington Commanders 28-21 in a crucial Week 17 matchup, keeping their playoff hopes alive as the regular season nears its end. With both teams vying for a postseason spot, the stakes were high and the atmosphere electric at FedExField. Tyler Shough was the standout for the Saints, throwing for an impressive 309 yards and three touchdown passes, showcasing his arm strength and precision. Jordyn Tyson was Shough's primary target, racking up 184 receiving yards, making several explosive plays that kept the Commanders' defense on its heels. Meanwhile, Nick Chubb led the ground game for Washington with 75 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome New Orleans' aerial assault. Defensively, the Saints made pivotal plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Kool-Aid McKinstry's interception proved to be a game changer, halting a potential scoring drive from Washington and maintaining New Orleans' lead. Despite Joshua Josephs' impressive two sacks for the Commanders, it was the Saints' ability to capitalize on key defensive moments that ultimately secured their victory.
