In a high-scoring showdown, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals 58-38 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to solidify their positions in the playoff race, but it was the Lions who emerged dominant, showcasing their offensive firepower and strategic execution throughout the game. Leading the charge for Detroit was quarterback Jared Goff, who threw for an impressive 352 yards and five touchdowns. Jahmyr Gibbs was a force on the ground, racking up 244 rushing yards, while Jameson Williams was the go-to target, accumulating 140 receiving yards. Together, they formed a formidable trio that kept the Cardinals' defense on its heels. Defensively, the Lions made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor, highlighted by Christian Izien's two interceptions. Although Josh Sweat of the Cardinals recorded two sacks, the Lions' ability to force turnovers and limit scoring opportunities proved crucial. The turning point came when Izien's second interception set up a quick touchdown, putting the game out of reach for Arizona.
