In a tightly contested battle, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the Detroit Lions with a final score of 14-10 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. Both teams fought hard for playoff positioning, making every play crucial in this pivotal matchup. Isiah Pacheco led the charge for the Vikings on the ground, racking up 78 rushing yards and providing the offensive spark needed for Minnesota. Though Jared Goff had the most passing yards in the game with 169, it was Cedric Tillman who was Goff's top target, hauling in 51 receiving yards but failing to find the end zone. The game turned on a crucial interception by James Pierre of the Vikings, which halted a Lions drive and shifted momentum back to Minnesota. While the Lions' defense, led by Jimmie Ward's six tackles and Aidan Hutchinson's sack, kept the game competitive, they couldn't secure the stops when it mattered most. Ultimately, it was the Vikings' ability to capitalize on key defensive plays that sealed their victory.
