In a hard-fought NFC East battle, the Philadelphia Eagles topped the Dallas Cowboys 28-20, solidifying their position in the playoff race as the season approaches its midpoint. Both teams came into this Week 7 matchup needing a win, but it was the Eagles who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive firepower and resilience. Jalen Hurts was the standout performer for Philadelphia, throwing for 211 yards and three touchdown passes, effectively orchestrating the offense throughout the game. DeVonta Smith was his top target, racking up 76 receiving yards, while Kenneth Walker contributed significantly on the ground with 62 rushing yards, keeping the Cowboys' defense on their heels. Defensively, the Eagles made crucial plays, highlighted by Jalen Carter's impressive 1.5 sacks that disrupted Dallas' rhythm. The game shifted in the second half when Philadelphia's defense stifled a late Cowboys drive, allowing the Eagles to maintain their lead. With Joey Porter Jr. leading the tackling efforts for Dallas, it ultimately wasn't enough to overcome the Eagles' tenacity and timely defensive stands.
