The Philadelphia Eagles kicked off the 2026 season in impressive fashion, dominating the Washington Commanders with a final score of 38-10. This Week 1 matchup showcased the Eagles' offensive firepower and established them as early contenders in the conference. Leading the charge for Philadelphia was quarterback Jalen Hurts, who threw for 358 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his elite arm strength and precision. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith had a standout performance, racking up 164 receiving yards, while running back Kenneth Walker added a solid 112 rushing yards, effectively balancing the Eagles' attack and keeping the Commanders' defense on its heels. Defensively, the Eagles made their presence felt, with Jalen Carter registering a key sack that disrupted Washington's momentum. Although the Commanders' Sonny Styles led the game in tackles with nine, the Eagles' defense effectively stifled any potential threats from Washington, particularly during a critical stretch in the second quarter where they forced a turnover that shifted the game's momentum firmly in Philadelphia's favor.
