In a tightly contested matchup, the New Orleans Saints topped the Cleveland Browns 24-17 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The victory keeps the Saints firmly in the playoff picture, while the Browns find themselves in need of a late-season push to secure their postseason aspirations. Tyler Shough was the standout performer for New Orleans, throwing for 212 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his targets under pressure. Travis Etienne Jr. contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 66 yards, while KC Concepcion Jr. led the receiving corps for Cleveland with 90 yards, proving to be a reliable option in crucial moments. Defensively, the Browns made their presence felt, with Jared Verse recording an impressive 2.5 sacks, putting constant pressure on Shough. However, the turning point came in the second half when Denzel Ward's timely interception thwarted a Saints drive, but ultimately, it wasn’t enough to shift the momentum in Cleveland’s favor. The Saints' defense held strong when it mattered most, sealing the victory and maintaining their grip on the playoff race.
