In a tightly contested battle, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Denver Broncos 27-20 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but the Chiefs ultimately secured the victory to maintain their position in the division race. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes delivered a standout performance, throwing for three touchdowns and keeping the offense in rhythm. Denver's Bo Nix also had a strong showing, racking up 373 passing yards and connecting with Jaylen Waddle for 127 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome Kansas City's offensive firepower. Brashard Smith contributed on the ground with 49 rushing yards, providing crucial support to Mahomes' aerial assault. Defensively, the Broncos were led by Alex Singleton, who made seven total tackles, and Jonathon Cooper, who registered two sacks. However, the turning point came late in the game when the Chiefs' defense clamped down, forcing the Broncos to settle for a field goal instead of a potential game-tying touchdown. This defensive stand allowed Kansas City to hold off Denver's late-game surge and secure the victory.
