In a thrilling clash in Week 8, the New York Jets narrowly defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 41-38, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Both teams came into the game looking to solidify their positions in the competitive AFC, but it was the Jets who emerged victorious in a high-scoring affair. Geno Smith was the standout performer for New York, throwing for an impressive 382 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Adonai Mitchell was his primary target, racking up 141 receiving yards and finding the end zone once. Meanwhile, Mike Washington Jr. kept the Raiders competitive with a solid 90 rushing yards, but the Jets' air attack proved too potent. Defensively, the Jets were impactful, with Demario Davis leading the charge with 11 total tackles, helping to stifle the Raiders' drives at crucial moments. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when the Jets' defense made a key stop, allowing Geno Smith to orchestrate a game-winning drive. Maxx Crosby's two sacks for the Raiders provided pressure, but it was ultimately the Jets' resilience that sealed the game.
