In a decisive Week 6 matchup, the Houston Texans topped the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 35-17, asserting their dominance in the 2026 season. This victory further solidifies the Texans' position in the playoff race, while the Jaguars will need to regroup as they face a challenging schedule ahead. Offensively, the Texans were led by C.J. Stroud, who threw for 215 yards, and Derrick Henry, who dominated on the ground with 116 rushing yards. Stroud's effective passing game was complemented by Dalton Schultz's standout performance, as he racked up 85 receiving yards and contributed significantly to the Texans’ scoring efforts. The offense was firing on all cylinders, making it difficult for the Jaguars to keep pace. Defensively, the Texans made crucial plays that swung momentum in their favor, highlighted by Kamari Lassiter's interception, which halted a potential scoring drive from the Jaguars. Despite Foyesade Oluokun's impressive 15 tackles and one sack for Jacksonville, their defense couldn't contain the Texans' offensive onslaught. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Houston scored back-to-back touchdowns, creating a gap that Jacksonville struggled to close for the remainder of the game.
