The Los Angeles Chargers secured a commanding 42-21 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 5 of the 2026 season. With this win, the Chargers solidified their position in the playoff race, while the Broncos struggled to find their footing in a competitive division. Justin Herbert led the charge for the Chargers, throwing for an impressive 367 yards and contributing significantly to the offensive onslaught. Kendrick Law was his primary target, racking up 132 receiving yards, while Bo Nix of the Broncos managed to throw two touchdown passes in a valiant but ultimately insufficient effort. Keaton Mitchell added a steady ground presence, contributing 50 rushing yards to the Chargers' balanced attack. Defensively, the Chargers made crucial plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Derwin James Jr. notched an interception, halting a potential scoring drive from the Broncos, while Akheem Mesidor added a sack to disrupt Denver's rhythm. The turning point came late in the second quarter when James' interception led to a quick touchdown, giving Los Angeles a lead they would not relinquish.
