The Philadelphia Eagles opened the 2026 season with a decisive 24-3 victory over the Washington Commanders, showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball. With high expectations following a strong offseason, the Eagles delivered a powerful performance that sets the tone for the weeks ahead. Jalen Hurts led the way for Philadelphia, throwing for 268 yards and a touchdown while also guiding the offense with poise. Tank Bigsby added a strong ground presence, rushing for 103 yards, while Dallas Goedert emerged as a reliable target with 92 receiving yards. The Eagles’ offense effectively controlled the game, allowing them to maintain a comfortable lead throughout. Defensively, the Eagles were relentless, highlighted by Zack Baun’s impressive three sacks, which disrupted the Commanders' passing game. While Washington's Rasul Douglas tallied a solid eight tackles, it was the Eagles' defense that turned the tide, forcing Washington into a one-dimensional attack. The turning point came early in the second half, when Philadelphia's defense stifled a potential scoring drive, allowing the Eagles to pull away and secure the win.
