The Cincinnati Bengals opened their 2026 season with a commanding 27-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With both teams eager to set a strong tone for the year, the Bengals showcased their offensive firepower, leaving Tampa Bay struggling to keep pace. Quarterback Joe Burrow was the centerpiece of Cincinnati's offense, throwing for 281 yards and three touchdowns, solidifying his status as a key playmaker. Ja'Marr Chase emerged as his primary target, racking up 95 receiving yards and consistently moving the chains. Although Chase Brown led the rushing attack with 36 yards, it was Burrow's aerial assault that truly made the difference. Defensively, the Bengals were relentless, highlighted by Cashius Howell's two sacks and Jerome Baker's two interceptions, which helped stifle any momentum Tampa Bay tried to build. The turning point came in the second quarter when Baker's interception set up Burrow's third touchdown pass, effectively putting the game out of reach. The Buccaneers were unable to recover from that pivotal moment, as Cincinnati's defense continued to dominate throughout the contest.
