In a tightly contested battle, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Carolina Panthers 14-7 in Week 10 of the 2028 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but the 49ers managed to hold off the Panthers for a crucial victory to keep their postseason hopes alive. Offensively, Brock Purdy led the 49ers with a key touchdown pass, while Drew Mestemaker of the Panthers stood out with 228 passing yards, showcasing his ability to move the ball downfield. Chuba Hubbard contributed significantly with 73 rushing yards, and A.J. Barner was a reliable target, racking up 72 receiving yards for Carolina, but it wasn't enough to clinch the win. Defensively, the 49ers made their presence felt, with Osa Odighizuwa recording two sacks that disrupted Carolina's offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when San Francisco's defense stifled a potential game-tying drive, ultimately sealing the victory. The Panthers' D.J. Reed led all defenders with nine tackles, but it was the 49ers' timely defensive plays that proved decisive in this matchup.
