In a commanding performance, the Detroit Lions topped the Green Bay Packers 27-13 in Week 9 of the 2028 season, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The stakes were high as both teams aimed to improve their standings, but it was the Lions who emerged victorious with a balanced offensive attack. Leading the way for Detroit was quarterback Bryce Underwood, who threw for 321 yards and showcased his precision with the football. Jahmyr Gibbs added a solid ground game, rushing for 78 yards, while the Lions' offense effectively controlled the tempo throughout the contest. On the other side, Jordan Love managed to find the end zone once but was unable to match Underwood's efficiency. Defensively, the Lions made crucial plays that shifted momentum in their favor, highlighted by Aidan Hutchinson's 1.5 sacks that pressured the Packers' quarterback throughout the game. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Hutchinson's relentless pursuit led to a key turnover, allowing Detroit to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win. Despite a strong effort from Green Bay's Xavier McKinney, who recorded eight tackles, the Lions' defense proved too formidable on this night.
