In an exciting opener to the 2028 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers outlasted the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 42-34. Both teams showcased their offensive firepower, but the Buccaneers emerged victorious, setting the tone for what promises to be an electrifying season. Trey Lance led the charge for Tampa Bay, throwing for an impressive 389 yards and five touchdowns, demonstrating his elite arm talent and decision-making. Lance's connection with his receivers was on full display, as he efficiently moved the ball down the field, putting Seattle's defense under constant pressure. Defensively, the Buccaneers made critical plays that swung momentum in their favor, highlighted by Josiah Trotter's two interceptions which halted Seattle's offensive drives at crucial moments. While Cole Bishop recorded six tackles for the Seahawks, it was the Buccaneers' ability to create turnovers that ultimately defined the game. The turning point came late in the second half when Trotter's second pick set up a touchdown that extended Tampa Bay's lead, solidifying their grip on the game.
