In a thrilling season opener, the Dallas Cowboys narrowly defeated the New York Giants 40-37 in a high-scoring affair that showcased both teams' offensive firepower. With the stakes high in Week 1 of the 2026 season, both squads were eager to make a statement, but it was the Cowboys who came out on top. Jaxson Dart of the Giants had an impressive outing, throwing for 396 yards and five touchdowns, keeping his team in contention until the final whistle. However, it was Herschel Walker who stole the show for Dallas, rushing for 134 yards and proving to be a crucial part of the Cowboys' ground game. Isaiah Likely also made a significant impact for New York, racking up 194 receiving yards in a losing effort. Defensively, Quinnen Williams was a standout for the Cowboys, racking up six total tackles and four sacks, putting constant pressure on Dart and disrupting the Giants' rhythm.
