The Minnesota Vikings decisively topped the Green Bay Packers 38-6 in their Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to set the tone for the season, the Vikings showcased their dominance early, leaving the Packers struggling to keep pace throughout the game. Kyler Murray was the star of the night, throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns, establishing himself as a force in the Vikings’ offensive attack. Bhayshul Tuten contributed on the ground with 64 rushing yards, while Christian Watson of the Packers made a strong showing with 91 receiving yards, though it wasn't enough to spark a comeback. Defensively, the Vikings made their mark with Byron Murphy Jr. recording two interceptions, which shifted momentum firmly in favor of Minnesota. Andrew Van Ginkel added to the pressure with 1.5 sacks, further complicating the Packers' offensive efforts. The turning point came in the second quarter when Murray connected on two quick touchdown passes, forcing Green Bay to play catch-up for the remainder of the contest.
