In a commanding performance, the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Washington Commanders 47-10 in Week 6 of the 2026 season. This victory solidifies the 49ers' position in the playoff race, showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball against a struggling Commanders team. Leading the charge for San Francisco was quarterback Brock Purdy, who threw for 272 yards and an impressive five touchdown passes. De'Zhaun Stribling was a standout receiver, racking up 109 yards and proving to be a reliable target for Purdy. Christian McCaffrey contributed significantly on the ground, adding 66 rushing yards to the mix, further enhancing the team's offensive potency. Defensively, the 49ers were equally formidable, with Romello Height recording a sack and Renardo Green snagging an interception. The turning point came late in the first half when Green's interception halted a potential scoring drive for Washington, allowing San Francisco to extend their lead and ultimately control the game. With the defense stifling any momentum from the Commanders, the 49ers cruised to an easy victory.
