In a thrilling Week 2 matchup, the Chicago Bears held off the Minnesota Vikings to secure a 31-23 victory. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the 2026 season, this win is crucial for Chicago as they aim to set the tone for their campaign. J.J. McCarthy was the standout performer for the Vikings, throwing for 281 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Despite the loss, his connection with T.J. Hockenson, who recorded 81 receiving yards, kept Minnesota in the game. On the other side, D'Andre Swift was pivotal for Chicago, contributing 64 rushing yards that helped maintain a balanced attack. Defensively, the Bears were bolstered by Dillon Thieneman's nine total tackles, consistently disrupting Minnesota's rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Chicago's defense held strong, preventing a potential game-tying drive from McCarthy and the Vikings. With a key interception by Byron Murphy Jr. earlier in the game, Minnesota struggled to find their footing against a resilient Bears squad.
