The Tampa Bay Buccaneers topped the New Orleans Saints 29-7 in a decisive Week 18 matchup that solidified their position heading into the playoffs. With both teams fighting for momentum, the Buccaneers showcased their dominance, ensuring they enter the postseason on a high note. Bucky Irving led the Buccaneers' offensive charge, racking up an impressive 106 rushing yards, while quarterback Tyler Shough of the Saints threw for 213 yards and a touchdown. Chris Olave was a bright spot for New Orleans, accumulating 129 receiving yards, but the Saints struggled to find consistency against a stifling Buccaneers defense. Defensively, Tampa Bay made key plays that shifted the momentum, highlighted by Josiah Trotter's interception that halted a potential scoring drive for New Orleans. The Saints' defense, led by Kaden Elliss with 10 total tackles and Chase Young’s 1.5 sacks, fought hard but could not contain the Buccaneers’ offensive onslaught. The turning point came in the second quarter when Trotter's pick set the tone for Tampa Bay, allowing them to build a comfortable lead that the Saints could never overcome.
