In a tightly contested Week 16 matchup, the New York Giants narrowly defeated the Detroit Lions 16-14, solidifying their playoff aspirations as the season winds down. With both teams vying for crucial positioning, the stakes were high, making the outcome all the more significant. Offensively, Cam Skattebo led the Giants with a standout performance, rushing for 138 yards and keeping the Lions' defense on its heels. Meanwhile, Jared Goff kept the Lions competitive, throwing for 184 yards and two touchdowns, including a late effort that nearly turned the tide in their favor. Jameson Williams contributed significantly in the air with 84 receiving yards, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to secure the win. Defensively, the game shifted when Brian Burns intercepted Goff, thwarting a potential scoring drive and allowing the Giants to maintain their slim lead. The Lions' defense, led by Jack Campbell's five tackles, fought hard to keep the game close, but the Giants' ability to capitalize on key moments proved decisive. This game highlighted the fine line between victory and defeat as both teams continue their battle for playoff positioning.
