In a commanding performance, the Washington Commanders defeated the Minnesota Vikings 45-10 in Week 16 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff aspirations with a decisive victory. The Commanders showcased their offensive prowess while the Vikings struggled to keep pace, leading to a lopsided score that reflects the dominance on the field. Quarterback Jayden Daniels led the charge for Washington, throwing for 210 yards and a touchdown, but it was the ground game that truly stole the show. Jacory Croskey-Merritt exploded with 208 rushing yards, making his mark with explosive runs that consistently put the Commanders in scoring position. Chigoziem Okonkwo contributed in the air with 47 receiving yards, rounding out an impressive offensive display. Defensively, the Commanders were equally impressive, with Mike Sainristil recording five total tackles and a sack, while Quan Martin made a game-changing impact with two interceptions. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Martin's first pick set up another scoring drive, pushing Washington's lead to 28-3. The Vikings struggled to recover from that momentum shift, as the Commanders’ defense stifled their attempts to mount a comeback.
