The Atlanta Falcons topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 17-7 in Week 7 of the 2026 season, solidifying their position in the playoff race. This matchup was crucial for both teams, as the Falcons aimed to maintain momentum while the 49ers sought a late-season surge. On the offensive side, the Falcons were led by quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who threw for 94 yards. Brock Purdy of the 49ers found the end zone with one touchdown pass, but it was Christian McCaffrey's impressive 147 rushing yards that highlighted San Francisco's efforts, though it ultimately fell short. Mike Evans contributed as well, leading his team with 49 receiving yards. Defensively, the Falcons made key plays that swung the momentum in their favor. Sydney Brown recorded four total tackles, while Xavier Watts added a sack, putting pressure on Purdy throughout the game. The turning point came when Jessie Bates III intercepted a crucial pass, stifling a 49ers drive and allowing Atlanta to maintain control of the contest.
