In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the Vancouver Lumberjacks narrowly defeated the Detroit Lions with a final score of 34-28. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the season, the stakes were high, and the Lumberjacks emerged victorious in a closely contested battle. Cade Klubnik led the charge for Vancouver, throwing for 260 yards and contributing a touchdown to his team’s success. Breece Hall was a standout in the receiving game, racking up an impressive 129 yards, showcasing his ability to stretch the field and make key plays when it mattered. Meanwhile, Jahmyr Gibbs of the Lions put forth a solid performance on the ground with 73 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to match Vancouver’s explosive offense. Defensively, the Lumberjacks were bolstered by Demario Davis, who made a significant impact with two interceptions, turning the tide in favor of his team. The game’s turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Davis’s second pick set up a crucial touchdown drive, allowing Vancouver to pull ahead and secure the win. Despite a strong defensive effort from the Lions, highlighted by Kerby Joseph’s three tackles and a sack from Brian Branch, they ultimately fell short in a game that showcased the resilience of the Lumberjacks.
