In an exciting Week 1 matchup, the Vancouver Lumberjacks narrowly defeated the Tennessee Titans 28-22, kicking off the 2026 season with a hard-fought victory. Both teams were looking to set the tone for the year, but it was Vancouver that emerged victorious in this thrilling contest. Leading the charge for the Lumberjacks was quarterback Cade Klubnik, who threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns, connecting effectively with his top target, Garrett Wilson, who racked up 118 receiving yards. The offensive performance was pivotal, as Vancouver's ability to move the ball through the air kept the Titans on their heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Lumberjacks were bolstered by T'Vondre Sweat, who recorded two sacks, putting pressure on Tennessee's offense at crucial moments. A key turning point came late in the game when Minkah Fitzpatrick intercepted a pass, halting a potential game-tying drive by the Titans and sealing the victory for Vancouver. Despite strong defensive efforts from Tennessee, including eight tackles from Alontae Taylor, it was the Lumberjacks' timely plays that ultimately decided the outcome.
